Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Open3D Viewer mobile application ("the app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The app
Open3D Viewer is a utility application for iOS and Android that lets you open and view 3D model files (including GLB, GLTF, STL, OBJ, USDZ, PLY, 3MF and FBX formats) stored on your own device, and provides related tools such as augmented-reality preview, screenshots, animated GIF capture, measurement, cross-section, metadata inspection, print-readiness analysis and file export. The app runs entirely on your device and does not require an account or an internet connection except to display advertising.
2. Who may use the app
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to digital services) to use the app. By using it you confirm you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these Terms.
3. Licence
Your right to install and run the app is granted under our End User License Agreement (EULA), which forms part of these Terms. Please read it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- use the app for any unlawful purpose, or to view, convert, or distribute files you do not have the right to use;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or create derivative works of the app, except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- remove, obscure, or interfere with any advertising, branding, or notices in the app, or attempt to use the app's features without the advertising in a way other than purchasing "Remove Ads";
- use automated means to interact with, or generate fraudulent interactions with, the advertising shown in the app;
- attempt to disrupt or compromise the integrity or security of the app or any systems it connects to.
5. Your files and content
You retain all rights to the 3D files and other content you open with the app. We claim no ownership over them and never receive a copy. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to open, view, convert, and export any file you use with the app.
6. Advertising
The app is free and supported by advertising provided through Google AdMob. By using the free version you agree to the display of advertising, including a banner and an occasional full-screen (interstitial) ad. Advertising content is supplied by Google and third-party advertisers; we do not select, endorse, or control individual ads, and we are not responsible for the products, services, or websites they promote. Data handling related to ads is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. In-app purchase
The app offers one optional in-app purchase, "Remove Ads", a one-time non-consumable purchase that permanently disables advertising for you. The price is shown in the app at the point of purchase. All purchases are processed and fulfilled by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their terms; we do not process payments.
- Restoring. If you reinstall the app or move to another device signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account, use "Restore Purchases" in Settings to re-enable the ad-free state at no further charge.
- Cross-platform. A purchase made on iOS does not transfer to Android, or vice versa, because the two app stores are separate.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled solely by Apple or Google under their respective refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. If a purchase is refunded, advertising will return.
8. No account; no cloud
The app does not provide accounts, cloud storage, sync, or any server-side service. We do not store, back up, or recover your files or settings. Keep your own copies of anything important.
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is". Tools such as measurement, metadata, and print-readiness analysis produce estimates and approximations and must not be relied on for any critical, commercial, structural, medical, or safety purpose. Please read the full Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Open3D Viewer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, filament, materials, or damage to 3D printers or other equipment, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer's total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid for the app or its in-app purchase, or (b) USD 5.00. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
11. Third-party platforms
Your use of the app also depends on, and is subject to, the terms of Apple, Google, and the app store from which you obtained it. The app uses Apple ARKit / AR Quick Look and Google Scene Viewer for augmented-reality features, and Google AdMob for advertising; their respective terms apply to those components.
12. Updates and availability
We may release updates that add, change, or remove features, and we may stop supporting the app at any time. We do not guarantee that the app will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that it will be compatible with every device or operating-system version.
13. Termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use the app. You may end them at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end your right to use the app if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 5, 9, 10, 14 and 15) survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date above will change and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the app or these Terms.
